A claim for compensation may be dismissed by an Administrative Law Judge or the Director in certain circumstances.  Those circumstances include a claimant’s failure to prosecute their case for six months or more, their failure to prove that they were an employee of employer from whom they are asking benefits, or their inability to prove that the injury actually occurred in the course of their employment.  If the case is dismissed, a claimant has the right to file an appeal of that decision.
