The Division of Workers’ Compensation employs numerous employees who are called claims managers.   These claims managers are responsible for educating  claimants about their rights, simplifying the processing of claims, reducing the need to take cases to hearing, and insuring that insurance companies and self-insured employers are filing forms and paying benefits according to the law.  The Director of the Division of Workers’ Compensation has the power to require the parties to attend, cooperate and comply with the efforts of the claims managers.  (Sections 8-43-217, 218, 219, C.R.S.).
