In order for a claim to be paid by the insurance carrier or self-insured employer, a claimant must prove that they were performing services which “arise out of and in the course of employment.”  This means that the claimant is doing work for the benefit or request of the employer at the time of the injury, but does not necessarily mean that they are on the employer’s premises.  (See “Travel Status” in this Glossary).  (Section 8-41-301(1) (b), C.R.S.).
