Director of the Division of Workers’ Compensation

The administrative head of the Division of Workers’ Compensation of the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment is the Director.  Paul Tauriello currently holds that position.  The Director has many powers, including the power to penalize the claimant, the insurance carrier or the employer for failing to obey one of his orders or an order from an Administrative Law Judge.  The Director also has the power to adopt rules and regulations which govern the Division of Workers’ Compensation.  Importantly, in some cases the party has the right to write to or meet with the Director if they are problems with the case.  (Section 8-47-101 through 8-47-110, C.R.S.)
