A claimant is not entitled to temporary benefits until they have lost over 3 days from work. Injuries causing the loss of more than 3 days are called lost-time claims or injuries. If the claimant is off work for more than 2 weeks, they will be paid temporary benefits starting the day they left work (but not including the day of injury). If the claimant’s period of disability is less than 2 weeks, they will not be paid for the first 3 days off work. (Section 8-42-103(1) (a), (b), C.R.S.).
